Duncan Mboyah holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Communication and Journalism Degree from Moi University AND Diploma in Journalism. He has over 20 years’ experience in science Journalism.
He has worked as a science Journalism trainer, written chapters on science Journalism, been a Judge for various media awards ranging from climate change and health and currently working as a media consultant and freelance science Journalist for the international media.
He has written hundreds of science articles for various local mainstream media in Kenya and international print media outlets
He is the current Chairman for the Kenya Environment and Science Journalists Association (KENSJA) 2023 – 2025.

Dan Kaburu is a distinguished, multi-award-winning journalist with eight years of specialized experience in environmental and climate change reporting.
Known for his proactive approach, Kaburu excels in collaborating with NGOs, conservation organizations, government agencies, and environmental experts to produce compelling and impactful news stories on environmental issues.
His extensive coverage includes high-profile international conferences such as COP26, COP27, the Africa Climate Summit, and the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) meetings, establishing him as a leading voice in the field of environmental and climate change journalism.
Kaburu is an advisory committee member of the Voices of Just Climate Action (VCA) an umbrella body for NGO’s that is implementing projects in seven countries namely Kenya, Zambia, Tunisia, Indonesia, Paraguay, Bolivia and Brazil with WWF-Netherlands as the lead office.
He is the CEO of Big3africa, an online media company involved in climate change, conservation and environment stories from across the African Continent.
He is a board member of the Kenya Environment and Science Journalists Association (KENSJA).

Gilbert Koech is a seasoned multimedia journalist with a decade of experience in the newsroom.
He specializes in Science and Environment and has devoted his time to covering climate change and sustainable development issues for decades.
He has covered a number of monumental environmental events, such as the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) and Conference of Parties (COPs) meetings, among others.
Koech wields notable accolades, including the prestigious Media Council of Kenya award, 2022.
He is currently working at the Star newspaper where he has written hundreds of stories on environment and climate change.
He is a board member of the Kenya Environment and Science Journalists Association (KENSJA).

Judith holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Geography and Environmental Studies from the UoN and a Diploma in Journalism from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC). Currently studying for a Master of Climate Change and Adaptation at the Institute of Climate Change and Adaptation of the University of Nairobi.
Judith Akolo holds several certificates on science journalism, health, weather and climate reporting, enhanced use of climate products in reducing risk and vulnerability from Hydro-Meteorological disasters and weather and climate information.
Judith is currently a Journalist with the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) with a great passion for development journalism, which includes climate reporting, environment, economy focusing on poverty and livelihoods, health and human development.
She endeavours to unpack the messages in the stories so that it can be understood well by the general public.

Lilian Mukoche
Lilian Mukoche is a seasoned Radio Program Producer, Presenter, and Station Supervisor at 103.9 MMUST FM, a learning and community radio station based at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology in Kakamega County, Kenya.
With over 15 years of experience in journalism, Mukoche has developed expertise in various aspects of media production, presentation, and station management.
In addition to her role at MMUST FM, Mukoche is an active freelance journalist, contributing regularly to World Pulse as a volunteer and to Talk Africa on topics such as environmental sustainability, climate change, economic empowerment, health, gender-based violence, and girls' rights.
Mukoche has also worked with Peace Pen Communication (PPC), where she participated in climate change media clinics, including events on The Role of the Media in Reporting Climate Change and Environmental Conservation in June and November 2012.
She has been involved in fact-checking initiatives through Code for Africa, in partnership with organizations like Deutsche Welle Akademie and the African Fact-Checking Alliance Network, and is now a qualified fact-checker.
She currently serves as the Chairperson of the Grand Wave Consortium (GWC), an organization that brings together media houses in Kenya to promote financial sustainability.
Additionally, Mukoche is a board member of the Kenya Science Journalists Association (KENSJA), where she contributes to advancing science journalism in Kenya.

She has also completed various professional trainings throughout her extensive career in media and communication. Carolyne currently represents KENSJA at the Global AMR Media Alliance (GAMA). She has previously worked with the African Woman and Child Feature Services as a reporter and sub-editor, and served as Managing Editor for ROGGKenya at DW Akademie. In addition, she has been a judge for several regional and international media awards.
